Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 Technical Specifications

Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 price in India is approximately Rs 10,700.
When you talk about the Galaxy range of smartphones from Samsung, the interest suddenly goes to the very next level. After all, the with the galaxy series of smartphones, Samsung has become a pretty dominant player in the smartphone segment. With Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 mobile phone, Samsung has one again targeted the mass market smartphone segment. Smartphones have gained tremendous popularity of late and there is a considerable amount of mid range smartphone lovers. Galaxy Fit S5670 is targeted towards that segment. But with cut throat competition has Samsung done enough to pack Galaxy Fit S5670 with features to sustain the competition. Check out our Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 review to know the answer for yourself.

Looks And Design

Compactness is one feature which users look forward in a smartphone. Fit S5670 is a pretty compact phone which measures 110.2×61.2×12.6 mm. The phone easily slips into your pocket and weighs 108 grams. The phone feels very solid on being gripped and is made entirely out of plastic. In spite of the all plastic make, the design of the phone looks clean and the sturdy. The back of the phone is made up of matt finish which makes the grip more appealing and makes the device fingerprint-proof. Samsung has done a fine job in giving the phone a solid look and feel. The phone gets a classy look with a glossy silver strip running around its sides and feels pretty much durable.

Display

New Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 sports a 3.3TFT touch screen which displays 65K colors of resolution measuring 240×320 pixels. The resolution of the display is poor, but considering that this is a low-range smartphone nothing much can be done about it. The touch screen is pretty responsive and supports multi-touch gestures. The colors displayed appear grainy and the graphics rendered are also not up to the mark. Above the screen you get a proximity sensor, while below the display there is a single hardware button. The layout is very much the same as that of Galaxy Mini while at the top of the phone you get various connectivity ports.

Features

Galaxy Fit S5670 is integrated with several applications such as document viewer/editor, Google search, Google talk etc. The presence of Youtube application helps users to view Youtube videos the phone. Users can also download several other applications as per their choice from Android market. The voice search feature in the phone helps users to speak their queries and search them accordingly.

Thanks to the TouchWiz 3.0 user interface, the icons look very good and the usability is improved to a great extent. The phonebook offer great storage space and has unlimited capacity. The phone also has quick contact feature which allows users to see a contact photo and then call or text accordingly.

Specs

Let us talk about the software aspect of the phone. We were disappointed to find that the phone runs on Android 2.2(Froyo). Though it is upgradable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) we would have liked the phone to be pre-installed with Gingerbread. Processor is another poor aspect of the phone. The phone runs on 600 MHz processor and Galaxy Fit S5670 Ram measures 280 MB. There is a 2GB memory card included and the memory can be increased to a staggering 32GB.

Camera Performance

There is no front facing camera in Galaxy Fit S5670. The phone sports a rear 5MP camera which displays pictures of resolution measuring 2560×1920 pixels. The camera does not have flash which virtually rules out clicking photographs in the dark. The camera also does not have a shutter key but has features such as smile shot, preset scenes etc. The camera performs decently and noise levels are also low and the images give quite a good amount of detail. Lack of flash and shutter key are definitely some of the disadvantages of Galaxy Fit S5670.

Video Review

Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 Android 2.2 shoots QVGA videos @ 15fps which is very poor. The resolution of the videos is not that great and the videos are good enough for MMS only.

Connectivity

Samsung has ensured that users do not face connectivity issues with the phone. Galaxy Fit S5670 supports both 2G as well as 3G networks. Presence of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP profile, USB 2.0 also consolidates connectivity package. Presence of 3.5 mm audio jack fulfills all the connectivity options of the phone.

Multimedia

The phone has a dedicated FM radio with RDS with RDS and music lovers will love the Touchwiz music lovers and thanks to the equalizer, the quality of the music is enhanced to a great extent. It also allows you to search for a song in Google or Youtube. The FM radio saves 4 stations as favorites.

Battery Life
The phone is equipped with a standard Li-ion 1360 mAh battery which provides a talk time of around 10 hours when the phone is operated on 2G and around 6 hours when operated on 3G.

Colors

The phone is available in two colors – black and white.

Price

Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 price in India is approximately Rs 10,700. You can also purchase the phone from several online shopping sites.

Galaxy Fit S5670 is a decent smartphone which will be loved by uses who are looking for mid-range Android phones. Undoubtedly Fit S5670 has various cons but then one also has to take a look at the target audience and the price of the phone. The device is placed between Galaxy Mini and Galaxy Ace and for its price tag it is a worthy phone.

Samsung Continuum Froyo

If the Samsung Galaxy S family had a red-headed stepchild, Verizon’s Continuum would win the honors. The phone’s unique secondary ticker display didn’t make as big a splash as Samsung might have hoped, relegating the Continuum to the back of our minds. It’s Android 2.1 software isn’t helping much either. Now, a leak of a work-in-progress Android 2.2 update could breath some much needed life into the handset. The update, build number EC03, brings along all of your standard Froyo enhancements including the speedy JIT compiler. As it stands, the version available from XDA is the stock build of the software sans second-hand customizations. No telling if this update will ever see the light of day via an official OTA rollout, but if you want to read up on what you can expect or find installation instructions head over to the source link below.

Talk of a the white Samsung Galaxy S II has been all the craze this week in the mobile tech arena. Now, we have full fledged confirmation of its arrival. Galaxy S II white leaks

Albino Nexus S, meet your better specced, bleached out, dual-core nemesis -- the mythical white Samsung Galaxy S II. The leaked snap is certainly timely, coming in only one day after a UK retailer promised the colorless beast would go on sale August 15th. We can't vouch for that, but we do know US peeps can now sign-up for "more info" on Sammy's website, so stateside GSII fans should be hearing more from the company soon. Will word come of the LTE-toting, ivory dream phone we've been lusting after? Probably not,
but getting the baddest black Android on the planet is still pretty darn good

Samsung Infuse 4G Gingerbread Source Code

The Samsung Infuse on AT&T is running Android Froyo with the manufacturer releasing the 2.2 source code bits back in May, but the Samsung Infuse 4G up north in Canada is shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

If you go to the Samsung Open Source Release Center and search for i997 (the codename for the AT&T Infuse 4G) or i997R (the codename for the Canadian Rogers Infuse 4G, mocked-up above), you'll see the later listed as being available. Given that it's most probably Android 2.3 Gingerbread shipping on the Rogers variant, you can take a peek under the hood if you know your way around source codes to see what's new and improved in the latest Samsung Infuse ROM -- and hopefullycoming soon to the AT&T version.
