Samsung SGH-T589 Android Passes FCC With 1700/1900MHz 3G

A new Samsung smartphone has just made the rounds at the FCC, model SGH-T589. We don't know much about this device, short of what can be dug out of these FCC pages, in addition to the WiFi Alliance certification it's already received, and the information in Samsung's UA Profile for the phone.

The FCC paperwork shows HSPA (no mention of HSDPA/HSUPA) certification for operation on the 1700 and 1900MHz bands, meaning we could be seeing this one pop up either on T-Mobile in the States or one of the Canadian carriers. We know it will have standard 2.4GHz WiFi capabilities, using 802.11 b/g/n, but no 5GHz support.

The User Agent Profile tells us this Samsung is definitely an Android smartphone, albeit one with a low-res 320 x 480 screen. That takes this out of the running for being any new high-end model, making it that much harder to guess which Samsung it is. It will run an ARM11-based CPU when it finally arrives.
