Download Android 2.3.4 For Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII)

It seems that some guys have got hang of the latest Android 2.3.4 for our beloved Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII)! And now its available for download posted on a thread at the XDA forums. If you are expecting some major improvements in this new version then you might be disappointed as this is just an incremental improvement. Having said that this version namely Android 2.3.4 for the Samsung Galaxy S2 (SII) does include two very note worthy features. First is the support of voice and video conferencing in Google Talk, and arguably even more important is the enhancements to improve the battery life.

Installation if this ROM is not that difficult either. Basically first you need to install the SuperCore to get the CWM and then install the DarkyROM2 via the recovery menu. Best of all this ROM installation will NOT wipe your data.
This ROM installs without wiping your data, if you want to wipe, put a folder/file called "wipe" inside /sdcard/Darky folder.(Do not use wipe/factory reset from CWM!)
If you want to experience a lighter and faster version (lots of apps removed) create file/folder "no-samsung" inside /sdcard/Darky folder
If you want to not install Swype, create file/folder "no-swype" inside /sdcard/Darky folder

Installation instructions are pretty straightforward as provided by the author himself. Have a look:
      1. Download SuperCore and DarkyROM2 from the links bellow
      2. Install SuperCore with ODIN
      3. Boot and upload DarkyROM2 zip to internal SD Card
      4. Reboot into recovery (vol-up+home+power) recovery takes long time to load! Be patient.
      5. Use the recovery menu to select the zip and install it
      6. Reboot and enjoy
As for the downloads get the SuperCore 1.0 Kernel here. DarkyROM2 XXKG1 BASE R2 DEODEXED CWM here and STOCK XXKG1 ODIN Firmware here. Please note that this is just a stock ROM so don’t expect any tweaks such as in the other custom ROM like Extended Power Menu.
