iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS (Old Bootrom) Gets Untethered Jailbreak

Apple has released a beta of the new and upcoming iOS 5 for developers (and those curious) before it will roll it out to the masses later on this year and the platform, less than 24 hours later, got its untethered jailbreak. Unfortunately things weren't so easy regarding the untethered jailbreak and according to popular developer i0n1c, Apple might have killed the possibility of such untethered jailbreak.

However, if you have an iPhone 3GS running iOS 5 (yes, the platform will support all devices iOS 4 supported), there's a possibility to get untethered jailbreak using Sn0wbreeze 2.8. This is only possible if you have an iPhone 3GS with the old bootrom but if you have anything else, you're stuck with the tethered version (at least for now).
