Top Tips for iPad: A whole bunch of stuff I never knew about your iPad
[To the tune of Shake Your Booty by KC and the Sunshine Band, 1976]
Shake shake shake…
…shake shake shake…
…shake your iPaaaaaad…
…to undoooooo….ooh…
Have I lost my tiny mind? Yes, somewhere down the back of the couch…but that’s not important right now.
What is?
Learning a whole fandango of funky knew things about my iPad, care-of Top Tips for iPad.
Thanks to Tip #3 I now know that I can shake the living [insert expletive of preference here] out of my iPad and thereby undo the text I’ve just typed in.
Much more fun than the undo or redo key.
And who knew you could do that…make mistakes vanish with vigorous shaking? If only life would bring out that app
Or that you can have multiple apps running if you double click the Home key.
And here I was thinking that the iPad was a blokey one-thing-at-a-time kind of machine. No, there’s a feminine side that can do a whole swag of stuff all at the same time.
Actually, I don’t know if I’ve ever really believed the girls-can-parallel-process thing. I’ve yet to really see it in action. Honest.
Anyways, before I get into trouble…on to ‘tidying’. Yes, tidying up your iPad…getting all those randomly splayed out apps into some semblance of order.

Nifty indeed. And my iPad suggested some fairly spot on category options for me too. Like it’s known me all of my life…unnerving.
Of course, I didn’t have to accept said options, but it’s nice to know my iPad wants to be helpful.
Moving right along to tip #9.
Okay, I never found that ‘+’ sign, but I did find an icon on the Safari menu bar that did the same thing.
And now my friendly Trade Me shortcut is sitting on my Home Screen, nestled comfortably in amongst my apps. Ooooooohhh.
For the paranoid amongst us there’s tip #13, setting a security pass code.
And tip #10 is for the flamboyant emailer who would rather have ‘Sent from the Playboy Mansion as their signature than ‘Sent from my iPad’.
Or Tip #12 that…well…recommends I try out another app.
Hmmm…does that REALLY count as a tip? I’m struggling to see how.
Still, I paid a big NOTHING for this 15 tip taster from Top Tips for iPad and have already learned a bunch of handy things.
Should I only learn another 20 or so useful things from the 100 top tips present in the full $1.29 version, I shall feel quite chuffed.
So yes, Top Tips for iPad has my vote.
Shake, shake, shake…shake, shake, shake…shake your iPaaaaaad…
